You will find Cedar Park on the north edge of the Austin metro area, about 10 miles
west of Georgetown. It is a
thriving community with GREAT people. This home has an
interesting skylight
feature that is prominent in the attic. We took some great before
and after pics
for comparison.

By installing the radiant barrier with the "staple-up" method, the HVAC mechanicals are
protected and
their life extended. Yet one more benefit of radiant barrier! Did you know
that Cedar
Park is part of the Leander ISD, the LARGEST school district, by area, in the
state
of Texas!

Covering the gabled ends is critical when dealing with west facing surfaces. Notice the
gap at the peak in
the after picture. We installed a ridge vent and the gap leaves the
ventilation
space open.

Notice how the smaller HVAC duct seems to disappear
in to a hole. Well, there is another room through there!
Yes, we crawled back & installed barrier there too!

If you use the space above your garage for storage,
make sure you cover the area with radiant barrier!

Proper ventilation is critical for an energy efficient attic. We installed ridge vents in the
four prominent
ridges of this home.

Unobstructed soffit vents (under eave vents) allow proper air movement through the
ridge vents.

While the vent is visible, we match shingle color and pattern to blend seamlessly with
the existing roof!

Looking up at the newly installed ridge vents shows how air moves freely!
